ANTWERP 26/4 MAJOR CONGESTION

Greetings intrepid travellers.
A word of warning in case anyone is going to be in the vicinity of Antwerp on Sunday 26th April.
A major tunnel (Kennedy tunnel) south of Antwerp is going to be closed for a large part of that day. There have been warning signs out for weeks already and major traffic congestion is expected as this is the main road linking France to The Netherlands. Avoid at all costs if possible !!!!

In addition there are currently major road works just started on the E19 Brussels to Antwerp road (it's Ok going from Antwerp to Brussels fo now) which is causing mayhem so if you can avoid Antwerp you would be well advised to do so for a while.

Again? Gecko, they must have rebuilt most of the roads in Antwerp in the last few years. I got snarled up in it about 4 years ago when almost every road and slip-road was blocked off.

This one is just the tunnel for one day but it is the weekend of the WSB in Assen so lots of folks heading north will get caught in the mess.
