I was after a sport waterproof glove so I done a bit of research before I purchased. I was after a good fit , safety and most important feel.
The latest gortex gloves called X-Trafit technology ( leather, gortex and lining are bonded together so the glove is not bulky and the lining doesn't come out) is used in the gloves I will mention.
I tried the Rukka Raptor , Alpinestar 365 , Racer Multitop and Held Phantom-Tex. I also tried from H.G a range of fabric/leather gloves and from Halvarssons the Tempel ,from Held the Shakal , BMW summer glove
Because of the Gortex this gloves will not give , so trying them on is highly recommended. After 300 miles of travel and trying around 20 pairs of gloves, I opted for the Held Phantom-tex ( full spec http://www.glfaccessories.com/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=300 ).

The decision was made purely on fit , they were the only gloves that are made in half sizes, they also offer a repair service when out of warranty , made out of kangaroo leather , a visor wipe and they fitted like a second skin , I had to wait a week for delivery but was worth it. Purchased from Glf Accessories , who were great at put up with me.
I done around 500 miles with them and they started to brake in nicely. The hottest day was around 28C and my hand was not sweating , I am sure in Italy ,Aug time the BMW R2 gloves will have to be used , but I shall let you know.
My second choice was the Racer ( well priced) and the Shakal ( best feel). All the gloves come with 2 year warranty and 5 years on the Gortex ( even Rukka is 2 years ), the best are made of kangaroo leather ( on the palm ) or goat. The visor wipe was present on all Held gloves even the non Gortex versions.
Price range was from £69(BMW) to £200( for the Phantom). The Held is replacing my Teknic sport glove ( still in good condition) and the BMW summer Gortex glove. When new ,they were just over £220.
A good alternative to the BMW R2 glove was Halvarssons Comet gloves ( http://www.grandprixlegends.com/mot...le-gloves/halvarssons-comet-gloves-black.html ) if you can put up with the loose fell of the lining .
A few pics.

Very nice.

If you have a different shap hand (more mole-like in my case) the HG Xtrafit summer gloves are very nice too. About £60. Lighter construction, more like the BMW Summer Pro.
