I noticed a while ago that my panniers were very hard to open/close.
Upon closer inspection I noticed that the top part was no longer in line with the bottom thus causing the red locking lever to bind.
Another "Tosser" posted on here that he had similar stiffness problems and I did this quick piccy guide, luckily he has managed to get a warranty replacement so did not re-align his but says he felt these instructions made sense so here goes.
This can be done with the box mounted to the bike and actually is probably easier when mounted.
1)Remove Screws on both sides.
2)Rotate arm to a position it can be removed at.
3)Remove 3 screws both sides but be sure to catch..............
4)................the bushes that the screws fit into on the underside of the box.
5)Remove the four screws and washers,2 each side.
6)Remove the clips on the retaining strings.
7) Prise the cantelever arms off the plastic boss that the screws and washer came from.
8)Lift out the panel.
9)Loosen and if needed remove the nut and bolt on all 4 wheels make sure not to mix up.
10)Remove this gear. This allows the cantelever arm gear to move freely to its correct position.
11)Try to get the arm tube and the bends in the pivot arms parallel (YellowLines)IT SEEMS NOT TO MATTER IF THE GREEN LINES ARE NOT PARRALEL.
The finished panel should look like this. This is the expanded position.
Assembly is the reverse of most above.A large flat bladed screwdriver will help with locating the sliding parts and make sure the catch on the bottom of the box is in the locked position when you assemble the locking lever(RED) in the closed position.
