Time to replace my C2. I had my heart set on a Tour X III but I found them just too tight on the forehead and opted for the Shoei instead.

First impression is the Hornet is so much lighter than the C2, which is unsurprising as it doesn't have the mechanism of a flip front.

I never really found the C2 that quite and the Hornet doesn't seem to be suffer any more wind noise than the C2, certainly up to speeds of about 60 mph. Without earplugs though I can hear the bike more which I quite like. On the down side I may be forced to shell out more dosh to buy a new end can to max out the enjoyment

I miss the flip down sun shield of the C2 but find, short term, if I am not wearing sun glasses if I tip my chin down the peak offers enough shade from glare.

Despite the size of the visor on the C2 I think the Hornet has better view certainly on the peripheries.

My C2 didn't have a pinlock (I don't think you can get them for a C2) and so far I have not encountered conditions where I need to worry about misting up but I am hoping for some improve on this front. I do find seeing the edges of the pinlock mildly annoying though.

The ventilation of the Hornet is much better than the C2.

The peak does not seem to yank my head back, in fact I don't really notice it unless a turn the head and then a feel a slight lifting but nothing untoward.

Finally the C2 makes me look alike a Sontaran (the Dr Who alien) while I look like a proper Tosser in the Hornet! :thumb

I might up date this after a long trip &/or having lived with it for a while and if I can be bothered!
