I have some vouchers to use before 30th Sept at Muncaster Castle, CA18 1RQ

Optional dates are Sunday 25th or Friday 30th Sept depending on interest and weather! The castle is closed on Saturdays.

Could be persuaded to stay overnight to explore more of the lakes.
1. Ride over Sat 24 / visit castle Sun 25th
2. Ride over, visit castle Fri 30th / explore lakes Sat 1st Oct.

I'm in Leeds but happy to meet people en-route or at the castle.

For some reason I thought you had a serrow. I was going to come on a drz400 if you had been going on a serrow.
But not to worry I'll go on the gs.

Ah! The Serow was stolen :censor: The police found it but it needs a petrol tank :(
I now have a DR250 :)

You're still welcome to come on the DRZ - I've been told of a mx track in the sand. But I'd need to lie down for a day if I rode it that far!

Wrong end of my booked hols otherwise would have had a go at this elaine

Hi Dave
Unfortunately, those dates are the earliest I can do in Sept.
I originally thought these vouchers expired next year!

[..snip..] I've been told of a mx track in the sand. But I'd need to lie down for a day if I rode it that far!

Where Elle, where? I'm interested in any off-road opportunities in Cumbria. I know there used to be (still is?) a 'Scrambles' track (showing my age there) at Bootle, just down from Muncaster. But that was on the side of Black Combe, not the beach.

It's been a few years since I've been there, but Muncaster Castle is a lovely place to visit, mostly noted for it's Rhododendrons in late spring/early summer (sounds dull but is actually pretty spectacular). I'm sure there'll be something of interest at this time of year too.

Anyone else interested in off-road riding in Cumbria should check out - http://www.cumbria.gov.uk/roads-tra...de-access/HOTR/Hierarchy_of_Trails_Routes.asp - and the TRF or course.

Sorry I don't know off the top of my head. Will have to ask the person who told me & I'm about 1000 miles away now.
But I think it was north of Whitehaven.

Never been to muncaster so I'm sure all will be good unless it's p'ing down...

My plans have changed & I'm now definitely going on Sunday 25th

I'll be leaving Leeds between 9-9.30 arriving at the castle between 12-1pm depending on tourist traffic and coffee / toilet stops

Sorry for any inconvenience - PM me if you're interested in meeting along the way
