Well my GS chums, Ive been on the laptop for 2 nights now and to be honest im getting fed up...
All I need it a basic pannier rack system for a 650gs twin. Ive got the panniers/boxes I just need the bloody tubing..Some of the prices are just silly.
The fixing bolts I can make/source. I don't care if they have the givi nobbles on..2 nights of looking through the web and im more confused than when I started.....Touratwat want over £200 and other have quoted even more...
So.....HELP ME PLEASE.........PLEASE.
 
C'mon, be a little bit more explicit please before anyone can help ....

Do you just want some tubing to make some racks yourself? ... then a steel stockist will help you!

Do you want any old racks to adapt so that the panniers you have will fit?

Probably not worth the effort :nenau

Who's panniers are they? You don't say :nenau

Try the 'wanted' section for pannier racks to fit the brand of panniers you have!

Try biting the bullet and become a subscribed member ... your GS Chums will maybe be a little bit more inclined to help ya ;)

Like I say ANY pannier racks that fit the f650gs twin , the cheapist ive found are the givi ( I will remove the pins and locking tab) at £195 plus post...
 
Errr would that be BMW's own panniers rack system then :nenau

Or a Givi or Touratech basic pannier rack system :nenau

Do you want the racks .... or just the bloody tubing :nenau

So im looking for a rack system...That doesn't cost an arm and a leg, I wont be going off road , and I dont over load panniers which puts strain on the racking system......Thanks alot Tosh

SW mochech QD pannier frames. These are oval section frames which adapt to many different panniers, Givi - Touratech- Alphons etc, They are well supported, a good price and very adaptable. Two nights searching and have you have not come across them yet??????. You must have had a look at Nippy Normans site. At least in two nights of searching you must have looked at all the old threads on this forum and seen them. You could also have seen them and many others in the http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=146379 .
what do you need thats more than these frames offer.

We have use them on my wifes GS650 for the past three years with Givi 21 panniers, they have been 100% reliable and remove in 5 minutes.

I think my problem is that ive read too many threads and not digested the information . I have read the thread that you posted, to be honest ive come across it quite a few times...With all the great help I have received on here I think I need to go back to the start. I will use the information that everyone has posted and start again ...This time I will take my time and digest and learn about all the different 650/800 systems...
I think the saying is....trying to run before you can walk..

Thank You for the thread information, Unfortunately I don't have the Vario or the BMW luggage that I believe they fit to..I have bought some tool boxes that was posted on here a while back..
I must admit a good price tho'. Good luck in selling them, I don't think they will be for sale for too long....Tosh

Tosh I didn't think you would want them but the reason I offered the pointer is because you said "any pannier rack system".

I too bought the boxes at the cheapest poss price (£26.51 each) but bought the Givi system (complete) off eblag for a very nice price too! With a few minor mods it's all ready to go now.

Reading back through your reply I didn't find it snotty, just very helpful..
With your recommendations to nippy Normans I visited the site.
Unfortunately I didn't find ANY luggage rack for any bike...Obviously I must of navigated in the wrong direction so I will try again later on when I have some spare time (going to work soon )
So apology not needed just a thank you from me is all that is required...
