Hi, all,

Had to renew our brake pads, decided to go for Vesrah VD-958JL.
Was not at all happy with OEM pads.
Did a search on this forum to see if there were any posts about these pads, saw none, so posting my findings here.
VERY good choice. Big improvement in feeling and stopping power. Vesrah claims "one touch finger braking", and are meant 'for control freaks only", well that's all true. And they are meant to be used with your OEM discs.
Tried softer Brembo pads earlier, the ones that won the german pad test, a disaster. Put the OEM pads back in. So was reluctant to try other brands.
This time lucky! :JB Thought to share this with you for your benefit.
greets, Hans

next step!

Now you have a proper front brake, it is time to reduce front brake dive, which is quite a bit with these bikes. My solution was to put Ricor Intiminators in, these did the trick, hardly any dive left, brake reaction time greatly improved, AND better responding front forks thrown in. When's your birthday coming up?? greets, hans

Ricor intiminators  are they springs?

What's all the fuss about guys

J U S T replaced my front pads on my F800GS at 74,700 miles :rob

Put genuine BMW pads back in because they're real value for money

Oh ... and those I took out were still well serviceable, just that I had a pair kicking about that I got to take on an overland to Iran and Pakistan ... but never used

Hi Hans,
Do have the F650 or F800? I'm looking for better pads for my F650.
Cheers
Laura

Hi, Micky,

yes I know that you are happy with standard pads, BUT you got the extra brake disk in the front.... with the one disk of the F650GS you need the best pads available. We are off on a 3-week stint to Austria/ Italy/Switzerland in 2 weeks time, with full gear we need max. stopping power on these mountain slopes!! Must admit that after 46 years in the saddle and this being my 14th bike (1st one was a Norton 350 one-cilinder!!) this one gives me great riding pleasure, and ticks all the boxes of what I want out of a bike. So ride on, happy biking !!! hans

Hi Hans,

The single front and original pads are just Fine :thumb2 alps , Pyrenees no problem.

Mind you I just fitted these in the front..... From Motorworks....
FA series, with HH suffix, denotes EBC's ultra high friction Double-H sintered copper alloy pads for maximum stopping power and lifetime.
These are supplied in caliper sets i.e. bikes with two discs at the front will require quantity two.

Braking with my little fingers :D :D :beerjug:

What do you need brakes for :rob
Pussy's.................................................. :aidan
