Leaving Wednesday morning. Ferry from Portsmouth to Santander, visiting Bardenas Reales badlands on way through Spain, overnight ferry from Almería to Melilla.
Then cross the land border into Morocco, east to Saidia then Oujda. South then west to see the French Foreign Legion fortress of Camp Bertaux.
Then north to the site of the Battle of Annual where the Spanish lost 13,000 troops in the 1920s to the Rifian forces.
Then north to Al Hoceima and a visit to the two Peñones of Alhucemas and Vélez de la Gomez.
Lots of other places in mind...
