Had the thing a few years now but probably only used it a couple of dozen times...

A few days ago I was pumping normal 'Scottish Mix' air (None of this Full Nitrogen stuff) into the Bullet tyres when all of a sudden the pitch of the motor changed somewhat, joined by a worrying rattle...:eek

Result...

Anyone else suffered such a catastrophic failure whilst pumping...? :D
 
There's probably a "Dr Airman" on the interweb somewhere bemoaning the poor design and materials.

Just imagine how catastrophic that could have been if it hadn't happened at home. You might have had to use a foot pump! :eek:
 
same here - but with a cheaper one.
Frustrated at not being able to bodge it somehow! :D
 
Hopefully the failure is a one off but
Should you decide to replace like for like £12.39 on Amazon.

You should leave it inflated after use - instead of pumping it up, and pumping it.......................... :augie

Yes, I've had it happen on a different pump with identical internals.

I'm waiting delivery on an identical one to yours. I might disassemble and lubricate before each use.

Basically they're crap.

Then I suppose there is the BestRest pump for £85.....

You're lucky it didn't happen in the fast lane of the motorway, it could of had you off...

Liquid metal or Superglue should do it.:eek:
 
Strip the beast down and send me the rod to weld up and I'll send it back free of charge(unless I completely feck it up, then it goes in the scrap bin)

Just spent ages dismantling it (well two screws actually)...:augie, so after all that effort, I will indeed be sticking the offending bits in a Jiffy Bag tomorrow..
