Jacket repair

The zip on my Tourance II jacket has busted - natch.

Do any of you have any suggestions for someone who could do me a repair around the Gloucestershire / Warwickshire area. Ideal location would be Chipping Norton, Stow-On-The-Wold, Shipston-On-Stour sort of area.

Not quite where you are looking for, but not a million miles away from London or by post / courier, I can recommend 100% Hideout Leather, near Saffron Walden.

Give them a call, they are open Saturdays. Kate does the stitching etc.

If it's only the zip slider that's broken you might be able to DIY if you can get another the same type. Let me know as I've got a few spares I've robbed from old and damaged gear over the years

The ones I have came off some cheap LED torches and are the ideal length for zips. If the whole top of the zip slider pulls off its probably fecked.

Thanks Bendytoy. Sadly your second sentence has the correct diagnosis: the whole top of the slider has sheered probably thanks to me using a large loop key ring to get a better grip.

So in the last six months I've needed new suspension (rear damper shot), a new battery (usual lack of guts at low temperatures) , a new fuel gauge sender, and now a new zip required on my BM jacket.

Surely it can only be a matter of time before the final drive bearings decide to give up. It's no wonder Ewan and Charlie had a support vehicle with them when they went the long way upside down or wherever: it was probably full of final drive bearings, rear dampers, batteries and fuel senders.

Still, after 14,500 miles the engine is getting a little sweeter!

I live in Essex and post my jacket to them to repair the zip a coulle of weeks ago. Got it back within a week and they were really honest in that only the bit that goes up and down needed repair and nit the full zip.

I'd trust then again and I'm glad I have found them.
 
I sent my rallye suit to LSR and had a new front jacket zip fitted, plus new velcro side waist adjusters to the trousers. More than pleased with the workmanship and customer service.
