Nice tablecloth :)

it is - it's one of those plastic coated ones. I can clean and fettle all manner of motorsickle bits on there and just wipe the grime away :D :D :D

John Lewis's I believe. (and noe he's not looking for it ;) )

Apart from the dubious table cloth and floor covering - the question has to be asked -

WHY ??

you get an 11k motorcycle which you quite happily sit and add hundreds of pounds worth of accessories to while sat in the showroom -

then try and save money with this - whatever it is ?

it'll be plastic dustpans next - FFS !!

try and see the bigger picture here.

What's wrong with the tablecloth and floor covering? Clean and paid for!

Please tell me a worthy alternative oh wise one and I'll consider it. Tell me do how you stop the shite up the back of the legs. :D

And before you say - I've got a Motorrad Concepts hugger on order. Until that arrives this is a functional, aesthetically acceptable, inventive and inexpensive solution. your problem with that???

WTF is the 'bigger picture'? - Oh its a beemer so everything has to pose well and be more expensive than yours? Not the reason I ride one sorry. ;)

aesthetically acceptable, inventive and inexpensive solution.

I'm sure you believe that to be right, however my point was that its a cheap piece of crap on an expensive bike.

temporary is good though.

i'm just confused about having this sort of thing on a nice bike.

i'm not saying anything has to be the most expensive thing in the world , it just smacks of furry dice in a ferrari .

as long as you're happy - and shite free, though :thumb

I'm sure i speak for many on here...... but just for grin factor, think you should definately post some pics of it once mounted!!!!

:D

If it works, and you're happy... it's all good to me.... your bike, your choice... (not sure i understand it myself, but then i don't have to eh )

Oh I will - if people who dont have it post pics of the backs of their legs after a wet ride on crappy roads :D

Until then I'll sit back and bask in the satisfaction of knowing I'm improving on an 11 grand bike with 90p outlay :D

btw if you want to see pics now Colin O's post re this subject has a load

Here's one I made earlier - using a rubber mat from a DIY shop - cost was 89p! That's right EIGHTY NINE NEW PENCE - in your face Dahoum!!!! :D

Mind you those cable ties weren't cheap.

beauty, mate :thumb

looks factory that.

can hardly see it, it blends in so well.

89p ??? you had trousers well and truly pulled down for that.

devalues the bike by 6 k, but as long as your legs dry.

I'll stop now...

Defending the original poster, I can see your point but I don't wholly subscribe to it - I like to keep my bike pretty in case I sell it (eg: maybe to get a 12GS-Adv if one eventually arrives) but in my final analysis I bought a GS because it is the best tool for what I want to do: long distance touring in places where roads can get a bit, er, "rough". Sometimes very rough indeed.

So I feel I am paying for comfort, luggage-carrying capability, a (hopefully) bombproof engine, and performance (power, torque, reliability) to get me out of trouble when shit goes down.

From my perspective it matters less that something like this not made of carbon fibre - than that it works, is cheap, doesn't degrade performance, and can be removed if you want to sell the bike.

Of course, I may be sympathetic because I don't mind making my own luggage racks which don't look pretty either, but which do suffice to get you to Italy and back on a 400cc trailbike. :D

I'm shocked....doing that to a 12 grand bike (they've already gone up from 10 to 11), you should be ashamed of yourself.

Why not just piss money away on overpriced accessories like the rest of us??dance pize

devalues the bike by nothing because as any fool knows you will take it off if selling, but as long as your legs dry. I'll stop now...

Fixed it for you :D
