Got today a set of aluminium boxes from Paul Cove (aka caveman)
Excelent stuff, good alternative to zega, particulary the frames that can be removed in seconds leaving almost nothing to show in the bike.
The boxes also mount/dismount in seconds. The best system I've seen so far.
And Paul is a true gentleman; you even get a cofee while he mounts the thingies.
The boxes seem strong and whith a proper hinged lid sealed with a rubber seal.
Recomended...

any specs ie how much do they carry, whats the width on the bike thta sort of thing, sounds like a good price.

They came in two sizes: I have the small one 36 lts. more than enough for my needs and narrower. Not wider than the Zega's and far more prctical. It take me literally seconds to put them on on off the bike....
 
Just back from a 3000 mile jaunt round Morocco using these panniers. Did exactly what we required of them. Esay to fit and more than large enough for two of us (36 Litre Boxes)

Bike tipped over and panniers only suffered slightest of scuff. We did get the smallest amount of water ingress ( I mean small), but that was after being subjected to 10 hours of torrential rain in Morocco & Southern Spain

Excellent value for money.

Baz - do you have any detailed pictures of the boxes fitted to your 12GS and the brackets please? Not info on the web site for said bike. Thanks.

I think that they're SW Motechs. If so, the pannier mount on an R1200GS:

Thats the ones. The beauty of these are that it literaly takes less than a minute to strip the mounts, leaving very unobtrusive fixings just below the passenger seat, foot peg mount and number plate. Though there is a lock fitted to prevent unauthorised removal ,without tools anyway

I can thoroughly recomend these systems. I originally bought the setup for my Africa Twin and then a week later bought the GS :rolleyes:

Caveman swopped the SW Motech rails over for a GS and I just refitted the panniers. The price is very competative and as said earlier... takes seconds to dimount the whole system leaving just a couple of discreet fixings.

If you ask Caveman nicely he well usually fit them for you while you wait. You have to make the coffee though. :D

Caveman also does some nice rubber coated Yale locks in a set of four that use just the one key as well.

Must second everyones comments here, fitted mine for the forth coming trip to South America to Alaska. I went for the larger 41 litre boxes, very big, solid and easy to repair should the worst happen!

Make good chairs too...
