richie did you ever hear of the back wheel coming loose like that on a gs i had an old r80 a few years ago that one bolt was crossed and came loose but four

also what possible damage should i be looking for in the back hub
i took out one of the bolts last night and there was strips of metal on it

don't like the sound of that. those strips are probably what's left of the thread in the hub.

sorry if that's stating the bleedin' obvious.

If you cannot work out a reason the bolts have either been tightened or loosened recently, I think I'd be calling the Police.

Mike:rolleyes:

yea strange there was anothere incident in the car park where a
car was missing two nuts on one wheel and one on another
the plot thickens me thinks
also anybody i spoke to said there no way they should come loose i guess its time to go to the shop with it

Call the cops... if they do nothing set a trap then when you catch them loosen they're nuts! Alls fair...

the whole car park is covered by cameras but not the bike shed
lovely innit

Have you been divorced lately ?

argument in a pub ?

done some plastering - badly - for someone ?? ;)

c'mon - you can tell us

John

It must have something to do with that 'terrorist beard' you've got going on at the moment lad :D

and there i was thinking everybody loved me
serious though when you mess up or have a close call
then you get the dry mouth and its either you fault or
so other motorist but this freaks me out i had hoped
it was if not a common problem, but something that had happened before

racer's swan song..

" you picked a fine time to leave me 'loose-wheel"................:P

Say thanks to your Guardian Angel who warned you to check.

Probably stating the bleeding obvious here, but that's my specialist subject...

If foul play is the suspected cause, then have you check all the other bolts on the bike? Brake calipers, front wheel, foot pegs, handlebar etc.

Mike

will do im not riding her again until i have the back hub checked out

It is possible for this to happen if the bolts are not tightened to the correct torque after wheel removal/replacement. I know cos this happened to me also.

Not 6 months later Snoots...

Mike:rolleyes:

I once rode home with a loosened swing arm.
Not foul play, just been in the hands of BMW mechanics.
