Just got my quote for my carnet de passage to travel through UAE and Iran on my 08 GS and it came back at £4520!!! That puts and end to that then!!!

Obtaining Carnet de Passage at the Iranian border

Just got my quote for my carnet de passage to travel through UAE and Iran on my 08 GS and it came back at £4520!!! That puts and end to that then!!!

Many of overlanders skips Iran because of Carnet de passage (CPD),getting this necessary document will cost a lot,needs time also big amount of money as a deposit,but I arrange Customs document(CPD) at the Iranian border which is cheaper than what you must pay in your home country.

Speak to your bank. Mine (Barclays) underwrote mine for no charge...

It's a funny one the old carnet.

It's travel on old bikes with a low value.

Unfortunately mine, the Natwest, said they would be breaking sanctions if they underwrote mine!!! If your's is the Natwest just don't mention Iran.
