Having looked closely at the Carpuride website, I’m none the wiser as to what it actually does. Seems to go on about motorcycle stereo a lot.

Is it just an Android tablet that runs CarPlay/Android Auto?

I think it was Santa who summed it up a few weeks ago saying it emulates your phone. I’m thinking of getting one because I currently use the Connected cradle & my iPhone 14 & navigate using Waze as I don’t like the BMW Connected app.
So as I understand it the Carpuride (& the Chigee AO & numerous others you see on Amazon) you connect your phone via Bluetooth/wifi to it & it “becomes” your phone whether you use iPhone (CarPlay) or Android version. You can then keep your phone in a pocket out of harm’s way. To hear anything you obviously have to link it to your headset. I don’t think you can use the whizzy wheel with it but you can use voice control. It has no built in Satnav so you have to use Waze etc.

Basically yes - just as you said. a tablet to support phone mirroring of apps.
