…..I'm aiming for UK to Spain in July for some camping in a desert.

The military will spot you before you see them.
Big fines if you try and get caught.

Strange thing, camping in a desert. It can be so absolutely silent, the sound of your own pulse can seem pretty loud. A weird, but great experience.
