How to remove OG BMW R1250GS footrests and replace with new ones?

So basically I have purchased some BBMW R1250GS foot pegs and want to replace my OG ones but all I can see is a pin holding them in. Not sure how to remove and fit the new ones (they have the rubber mount in them).

Does anyone have a link to some fitting instructions or a YouTube video?

It’s not the rear pillion ones.

You don't say what you are taking the pegs off, is that another R1250GS ? Aren't these a circlip on the bottom of the pin.

Perhaps you are unlucky / lucky which ever way you prefer to look at it but my 1250 has a recall to fix them so they won't fall off.

Another Technical Recall (Footrest Circlips)

I see BMW have issued another technical recall, this time for the footrest circlips to be replaced.

So if yours are still there, have a look underneath at the bottom of the pin.

Yes sorry it’s taking off the original ones on a R1250GS. You say there’s a clip?
I’ll go and double check.

Screwdriver under clip and prise off whilst keeping hand around area to catch clip. Push pin out from bottom. Clip will push back on easily. Minutes will do it.
