Pulled the cover off, pumped the tyres up, kicked it over about 40 times and it burst into life again! :clap The new Motobatt battery I put in it about 3 years ago is dead but at £24 for a new one I can live with that. :thumb Cracking little scooter. IMG_3971.jpeg

I used to run a ‘wheels2work’ scheme for a registered charity where we supplied scooters, riding gear, insurance etc to young people to get them into work, education or training. The bikes didn’t get an easy life. When I took it over the fleet consisted of about thirty of these, all coming towards the end of their tenure. They were replaced with new Sym units and put away into storage. As the Syms wore out and got knackered, I’d bring one of the old bikes back into service as a temporary replacement. Ended up most of the Syms got replaced by the older bikes.

It wasn’t that the Sym scooters were bad, they were fine, they just couldn’t take the punishment that these bullet proof little things could. Superb little scooters.

How come you stopped using it? What are you going to do with it now?

Just nosey :)
Not a clue. :D I originally bought two of them. One was used by my son to get to college on but that was 8 years ago now. There’s a bike shop near me in Stourport that sort of specialises in scooters. I’m kind of thinking about giving it to them to put a big bore kit on it and other fancy bits and using it to commute on / pop to the shops on when I get a job closer to home. Just a bit of cheap harmless fun. :thumb Why not. :nenau
