Anyone else got this going on to their brake line?

Nope, mine is rusting. That looks like fluid. Needless to say, check the levels closely.

I'd be concerned that was fluid, too.

But, brake fluid isn't that colour (not that I've ever seen) and it will generally make polythene tube go milky opaque.

Fluid level is fine and dandy, it's taken 3 years to get like that!

There is some printing on the plastic covering- well there is on mine. Brake fluid reacting with the ink???

I've got rust spots on my front brake hose, r/h/s. 13 plate LC. Dealer took photos & BMW UK will pay towards replacement! I have to pay £160!! Or there about. I thought they were stainless steel?

I have exactly that discolouration on my rear brake caliper hose, where the hose enters the hose union like yours.

No leaks at all, weird !

£160 contribution to replace brake lines?!!
I'd just buy a set from HEL and change them myself, I'm sure they'd be cheaper as well.

Looks like it might be a biological cause to me, algae??
Is the bike kept outside, damp etc.

:nenau :nenau

In my case no, always kept inside my garage except when on a road trip .

Looks like the inner liner is leaking. Fluid is tracking down the braiding, and reacting with it.
I would change them.

I know. How can a short bit of brake line cost more than £300 to replace!!!
