K100RS (2001) Brake problems

All,

gather this is a known issue. The Brake warning light is on and "Bake failure" Light flashes quickly. This started off intermitently but on a ride out over xmas is now happening all the time. Front brakes are ok and work as normal but rear brake is none existent. I have checked all brake pads ,OK, and brake fluid levels, also OK. has anyone else has this problem or should I just take ikt to a dealers to plug in. I'm hoping it's not the ABS unit as I gather these are VV expensive.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure its a 2001 K100RS? There were known "issues" on the K100 and K1100 bikes with batteries and warning indicators but the brakes always worked fine. If the rear brake is not working at all thats a different issue.
