Arrived back into Portsmouth last Tuesday from Spain with "Missed Adventures" my first escorted motorcycle tour was not sure what to expect, was not disappointed from our initial meeting 14 days earlier at Porstmouth Ferry port meeting up with a load of strangers, it turned out to be a really cracking two weeks.
Had planned to do trip as previously travelled solo and just booked hotels for the next day, this was different although covering a lot of familar ground our tour leader Phil Hough takes you off the motorways and toll roads travelling through the most scenic towns and villages. The pace was sensible and covering on average 150 - 180 miles a day leaving the hotel around 10 after a leisurely breakfast, then a coffee, lunch stop normally arriving at Four star hotel with garage parking around 5pm.
Throuout trip Phil was always on hand to make sure everything was as it should be daily briefing at breakfast for planned route for day with waypoints put into GPS should you get lost, although saying this we managed to keep all 11 bikes together for the majority of the time.
To sum up a throughly worthwhile adventure I would not have seen half of what I saw on this tour without Phil's expert knowledge and his total care and consideration to all on our tour. a great bunch of people with a common interest in motorcycling Definitely touring next year with Phil, Ireland or Germany, probable both a link is here to their web site. www.motorcycletoursineurope.co.uk
