Touratech Travel event - Walters Arena -

Correction to previous Message

Last weeks message regarding the availability of Walters Arena for Off-Roading at the Touratech Travel event was a little misleading I’m afraid….largely due to someone’s over exuberance (i.e. me…)

Having mis-read or more accurately not read.. the small print – I can now clarify some points for you – and offer my apologies if it leaves some people disappointed.

The newsletter was intended for Big Bike Challenge entrants….so here’s the points to note…
1. The event is for road legal big bikes only – ie 575cc and above, with the emphasis on big trailies and adventure bikes, they must be taxed, insured and MOT’d etc

2. Access is on the Saturday ONLY

3. It’s a managed route and will be guided by Marshals

Those of you who have entered with bikes that do not qualify – please e-mail me with your contact details and I’ll make sure we refund your entry cost.

On a more positive note…This years Dawn to Dusk is , as ever, scheduled for the August Bank Holiday weekend – 25/26th - and we hope to have a new booking system in place very shortly, so you can get your entry in. All work on the Wind Turbines has been completed, so we’ll have even more options for this years track to challenge you with.

There will also be a couple of fun “warm up” events on the Saturday to get your racing muscles flexing and of course in the huge Camping area there’s the trusty Beer Tent, Tasty grub and a selection of traders for those last minute essentials and repairs!

We’ll let you know when entries open…See you in August

Thanks for posting the correction, my bike passes the cc stipulation but my heart fails at the point where it says "guided by marshals" thats going to be exciting then:rolleyes: ( no offence to the Marshals)

Last year there were various different types of marshals. Some took a slow sensible safe route whilst some others were, shall we say, far more adventurous.:D Check out the marshals first and you might be pleasantly surprised. Obviously they don't want to push anyone beyond their ability but if you show them you can handle your bike well enough they will allow you to join in with a faster nutter group.:)

As I thought, as one who usually wears a yellow bib at these events you will have fun whatever your level:D
