As much as I like old airhead BMWs there's no way I would pay anywhere near that price. A fool and their money...............

The guy only bought it in November, and it was a bike he always wanted, According to that facebook site, I wonder if he paid similar?

Absolutely....just a few 'airheads'.....with sufficient money to chuck at this...that they really can't ride as its value will plummet...pointless museum piece then...

I saw a dented and scratched old Porsche Targa come past me as I sat at the lights today in dull Matt green driven by an old fella with (presumably) his wife riding shotgun and thought to myself wow, that’s a well used and enjoyed car, fair play to them both.

Priced to sell…? NOT.
IF it sells, ( and it’s a big if) then I think it will be buried into some collection somewhere and never be used at all.
…shame really, as they were made to be used, not polished and looked at as an “ investment”.
Wish I had a picture of a friends g/s pd, that went round the world over five years , bought new by a friend ( now deceased) from the factory in Germany for the RTW trip [ that was planned as three years, and ended up as five years).
It’s battered, scraped, scratched, dull paint, but all the better for it.
It’s known as “Parkys gs” amongst our group as it was “ Parky” that took it round the world. Mileage unknown; as three speedos broke on its trip, and parky didnt keep a record of the totals, or a guesstimate of the miles done and not recorded…. But somewhere in the 100,000 miles plus. It will always be “ Parkys gs,” whoever owns it!….and the current custodian is happy with that!.
It will never be “restored” as that would ruin it.
This restored bike looks pretty, but even with a huge lottery win, I wouldn’t want it.

When the last two people who want it end up as one, it will be worth almost nothing.
Classic bikes and cars who outlive their fanbase massively drop in value until they're old enough to be desirable again due to their age and rarity. It can take decades. And sometimes it still doesn't happen.
I've got a few old mates who spent years collecting bikes. Watching their value go up and up. Then suddenly everyone who wanted them started dying off or hanging up their leathers. And now they're worth a fraction of what they were. They won't live long enough to see them go up again. I doubt I will either.

Off to Stafford Classic Bike show the end of April. Have bought a couple of lottery tickets and if I win, told the other half, I'll be coming back with either a Brough SS100 (Matchless engine of course) or there is a nice Vincent in the auction, with a fantastic history 
And possibly better? I've met Theo a couple of times at the Manx. Both years he was on an immaculate 80g/s PD with his mate Jan riding a slightly scruffy Guzzi special. It was the rveresed heads on the Guzzi that drew my attention and the flawless PD that kept it. I'm not qualified to speak to the accuracy of the resto - I'm only an aspiring Airhead Anorak - but up close the paintwork was absolutely top drawer. I'd happily entrust him with a Ducati 750ss greenframe - if I had one...

I know nothing of the bike in question,
However,if it’s a genuine factory PD,it’s worth a fair bit more to the right buyer at the right time.
I’ll admit,I’m no anorak on these things as I can’t be arsed,but I do know how much it costs to do a proper resto.

FWIW I've seen this bike in the flesh, in its dining room. I can't comment on the price but the bike is probably better than new. It came from a collection in Austria or Switzerland. So I guess I'm saying it's genuine.
