£40.35 to fill the tank this morning....

Pretty sure this post will keep reappearing when the main moaning minnies get ther GS's out in April or May.
By The way, real nice weather the last few day's,
so I filled the lawn mower, 97p

Nostalgia

When I started motoring, petrol was 2s6d a gallon, and I put 24 gallons in a week to a Humber Super Snipe to drive the 3 miles to work each day and take the girls up to Box Hill several times a week ' to watch the trains travelling from London to Brighton. The Snipe had a Leather sprung front seat. All the young ladies remarked what a lovely comfortable and warm car it was, and hey! a valve radio. Now it costs me over £90 to fill the Hilux with diesel. What happened with my life? I know

I got old.:rob

Nostalia 2
When I was a sprog, I remember my dad paying 5 shillings for a gallon of petrol up north of Scotland, came back to the car mumbling about 'robbin' bastids'....
I also got old and just fill up the GS when needs.

A positive slant for a Friday

The more expensive it gets the less people will use their cars.

What would you prefer £6/Gallon to sit in traffic or £10/Gallon and you get the roads to yourself???
:D:D:D:D:D

It's a bit anal that I know this, granted, but it's costing me more per mile to ride my bike now than it did to drive my Land Cruiser when I first got it.

It still amazes me that we've not had another round of fuel strikes, it just goes to show that it really is an elastic economy.

to me, it costs what it costs, i might not like it but am not about to give up my enjoyment for a few quid ;)

Haven't ridden my GSA for over a month now. Mainly due to the weather but also the fact that my Mini Cooper D does over 60mpg. :thumb

My M3 does 16-18mpg and runs on v-max  Therefore my GSA's much more economical for me. I do run that on v-max aswell though :blast
