Cheers for that Fanum.

I used to race motocross at county level up until about 10 years ago so I would probably be ok.

Weather wise, when is the ideal time to go.. e.g not too hot or cold or is that not a real issue?

Not a real issue TBH....as we vary routes to avoid the nasty bits...we'll always go high at some point on each trip and always go to the desert areas below the Atlas but if it's 45 degrees there, we may only stay a day before heading back into the higher areas to be cooler....conversely, there's no point in playing in the high passes when there's three feet of snow so we do some lower level passes and then head south to warm up :D

On the February trip I've just come back from, there was snow high up...this is the auberge at the top of the Tizi N Tazanakht for example.

It wasn't cold though.....you're working pretty hard and obviously we advise what kit to use for each area, plus the sun is very hot.....we do change our schedules to make sure we get down low before late afternoon when the temps start dropping though :)

There's a massive difference between seasons in terms of scenery....the whole of the Hamada (flat stony desert) north of Marrakech was covered in lush green wheatfields in February and this was the scene near Ait Baha; everything in blossom and bright green fields full of alpine meadows in flower...

Generally though, to get a good temperature everywhere whilst avoiding the hottest times, April and October would probably be my favourite months.

800 in Morocco? Oh yeah it'll be great:blast

Sometimes you should go with what you know!

This last weekend I was marking out an endurance ride for Cotswold EGB. This was with my local TRF group, Gloucester. So after the rekkie on Saturday with my 400 CCM I thought this would be a simple enough run for the GS now I have the TKCs fitted.
As there was a horse trial on Sunday and we were covering both events, we did the endurance course check early in the morning when it was still wet and a little frosty. Now I know TKCs are not in the same league as AC10s and the extra 110+ kilos count against it but it was still good fun on the gravel and the wet stones on some of the route. The muddy stuff was ok and I could stay with the guy on his little CRF230 (but he is far better at this than me) Saying that I did lay it down the wet stones rather than power into the bushes

So on to the horse trial which is basically riding around a field collecting bits of paper from the fences. Note this is not a flat field but has a range of slopes etc but is generally south facing so is drying out nicely. Rode around for the rest of the morning with little drama. Come the last round before we head back to demark the endurance route and at the penultimate fence I slide the front wheel out whilst hardly moving as I let the other guy move ahead. Bike goes down (and this is something I have down a few times before --too much front brake) I usually roll away and get up This time I manage to get my right foot caught by the tank and as I roll away break the tibia Three days in hospital.... Why is it the small simple crashes that get you?

Bike's OK as the Advspec bars took the hit again (dropped it in the gym car park not long after i fitted them) In my case these were worth fitting as it saved the bodywork
Now as it was at Princess Anne's place I am trying get hold of any photos as I know there was a lot of photographers there!

And the best bit....
Just got out of Gloucester Royal and parked next to my wife car was one of the slower grey 800s Think she parked there to wind me up?
The guys at work are looking at stabilisers

Before anyone asks I am fine apart from the enforced layup but I'll be back out there even if I have to buy a little twist and go thing

Cheers
