Quite an impressive collection of mud there Malcolm. My 800 hasn't seen mud since Shropshire...

It was horribly sticky clay. We had to take the mudguard off when the front wheel got blocked up. We also had to disconnect the side stand switch after mud got in and cut out the engine. That's happened before so I'm going to have to come up with a solution for keeping the switch dry, or disconnect it permanently.

Fortunately one of the guys I was out with is a mechanic on Harrier jump jets so he managed to sort me out in the middle of a muddy rut.

Messy! If I was doing a lot of muddy stuff with my bike I'd be sorely tempted to bypass the sidestand switch too.

The chickens are fine thanks, the biggest problem was catching them to put them in the van. Arrived home late Sunday night and shoved them in the shed with those we already had, and they've settled in nicely. Already had some eggs off them too, I like free range eggs...

D'ya mean the little rubber thingies on the side of the side panels? Didn't get them for any wind deflection properties but I guess they do help a bit, but not so as I would notice.

Bought really for looks as well as a little protection in a slow speed spill. Bike been dropped a couple of times with no marks to the side panels, but then no marks on the winglets neither so effectively they haven't been required

The screen is a Wunderlich Ergo Vario. it comes in two pieces and the top section slides up and down. There is a full description here.

I got it through Nippy Norman and I think the price was about £160. It's listed as 169 Euros on the Wunderlich site. If you are buying in the UK you have to buy through one of their distributors, of which Nippy is one. If you do buy, make sure you specify the Ergo Vario and not the standard Ergo which is non adjustable.

Spec but the windshield and handguards are Touratech. Have you gone on many bike trips over there? Do you have any pics of your bike on here? Take care.

heres some pictures of my bike about a week ago its changing so much by farkles (on going projects just about to refit the BMW bash plate with TT toolbox/crud catcher... pivot pegs are on order, Ohlins shocks are being negotiated)

Trips have only just begun
couple of trips last year south of france, my sister has a place in the south 45mins from st tropez, (5 day trip 1900 miles) and camping in scotland 3 day weekend 1300 miles.

This August 2010 of to south of france again via the Alps, and 6 days this time as we will push into Italy, long range after that france, spain portugal is in the thinking and after that I have a desire for Morocco. (gonna seek advice on this site for that)
