Chad,

Thanks for your answer. I have that set of micro de's on my 12GS. I assumed his came from TT as they have the black protectors on the outside. Am I correct or are they from some other source?

no you are correct:thumb

its the same with the BMW spots on the 1200s they are the hella's just inside BMWs plastic casing:thumb2

I bought the right hand HID directly from Touratech while down there, when I had ordered my 1200GS-A ... but never fitted it. Was sat languishing in the box until the right 'bike came along :thumb

The left hand fog light was a right time right place S/H purchase some time ago :)

Cheers for that Chad :thumb

This is what happens when you've photographed your GS from every angle... silliness kicks in. photos of a Fat 800 GS'er doing a face plant off his bike will be in next weeks installment :D

Yes Marty... the one on the right is a long range HID aux headlight, goes off when I go to dip. The one on the left is a 55w fog light with very flat beam I run as a 'daylighter'

:beerjug:

Micky,

did you use the TT switch for the foglight?

I installed the TT lights today(HID and fog) but did not like their way of operation when HID goes on with highbeam of the bike. Installed OEM button switch as well but do not know how to connect it as there are three wires in it while TT has only two. And I'd like to use them both lights together.
Could anybody help?

Micky,

No, I only aquired the light with no wiring. Had a relay kicking about doing nothing so no problem. The fog light isn't something I'll switch on or off on a regular basis, I just leave it on all the time, set low so as not to dazzle :)

What I did do is the pick up wire that comes from the dip beam feed I put a normal small switch in this wire before it gets to the relay. This switch is tucked away inside the nearside fairing cheek and can be reached with a gloved hand when stationary ;)

well this is Mine!!!!

Aye - well, it's ORS provenance had left it somewhat 'cosmetically challenged' and the repairs to the plastics would have meant a full respray anyway .. if I'd have wanted a minter that is ...

I've got to say I'm reasonably happy with the job - I used a plastic fairing repair glue to sort out the big crack in the dummy tank side, and Halfords own brand black bumper spray paint. It's bloody fantastic stuff, sticks to anything, goes on quite thickly without sags or runs, dries enough to sand within 30-40 mins at 15C and a resilient satin finish too...

sounds like good stuff. I used satin finish by plasti-kote the other day on my crash bars :augie It doesn't go on that thick and will sag if sprayed on too generously. I think I may have to invest in a can of the halfrauds stuff :thumb

Now that's how all Tossers should greet each other when out on the road. Just raise your right arm a bit further when greeting SS Tossers.:thumb2
