If that SW Motech center (sorry, CENTRE) stand is anything like the one they sell for the VStrom (and it certainly looks identical), beware! It's very narrow and unsteady. I've managed to tip my VStrom over just by giving it a slight bump.

SW-Motech will be releasing a 'Bags Connection' tank bag shortly.

I have a similar looking one on my F800S without any issue whatsoever. I've got one on order for my F650GS, I'll let you know how it turns out...

...I just need to get the bike first. :D

Pics of where I've mounted the bottom strap on the Famsa bag - don't know if it's the right place as it twists the straps through 90 degrees. Other side of the bike mirrors this picture.

The Famsa pic suggests they fixed the straps to the upright section of the 'triangle' in the frame - I couldn't get the level of fore/aft adjustment on the bag doing this. Didn't have any problems over 1500 very wet and occasionally very fast miles.

I just got me that tank bag. I see what you mean about the lower strap mounting. I could get it around the vertical bar on the right side but the left is blocked by the side panel/fuel tank so I had to mount it like yours, how annoying.

Hein gericke tank bag

Has anyone got a non BMW or Touratech tank bag to fit on to their 800? I'ed be interested to know as I need to get a bag ASAP and have always gone with Oxford products in the past.

Thanks

Jim

I use the Hein gericke Taureg tank bag. I used to use it on my Varadero with the magnetic pads but now I just use the supplied straps that go around the head stock. It's a bit Heath Robinson as the strips are attached to the front vents and down to the bars around the engine.

I did 600 miles with it the other day in rain and cross winds and it held up well.

I will supply photos with it on the bike.

This is the one I have on order for my F800GS which is also on order. Personally I don't think the bikes exist and that you're all in on a big conspiracy..

The Wolfman Denali is basically the same bag as the Wolfman Explorer, but is shaped to fit the "old" F650GS single.

I would suggest that the slightly smaller Explorer Lite would be a better fit on the F800GS and F650GS Twins.

Baglux tank cover

Just took delivery of a baglux tank cover ahead of my wife picking up her brand spanking new bike on Saturday. She was so excited when the huge box arrived from baglux today remarking that it was very light and hoped it wasn't empty. After opening the the lid she found a very small strip of plastic small enough to make a G string for a hampster  Has anyone else got one of these for there p&j? (Baglux that is and not a G string for a hampster!) Does any other straps come with it, if not how does it stay on the tank  lol

Hi don't worry it works fine, though pricey for the size of it! The two screws at the front of the false tank plate hold the front and the bottom goes under the seat with the velcro'd bit wrapped around. I've found the small baglux tankbag perfect on my 650. Big enough to hold my bits and pieces but not so big it obstructs my handling of the bike

How much is the tank cover and tank bag, been on their website and can't find any prices?

Some photos would be nice too :)

Hi,

just finalising all my kit for a trip down to Turkey next month, I have most of my gear with room to spare in my panniers and roll-bag so didn't really think I needed a tankbag.....but........

I've installed my autocom and have nowhere to sensibly put the radio. I'd rather not have it in my jacket pocket. I don't have much else I'd need to put in a tankbag so would rather not go to that expense. Anyone any ideas ????

Ta.

Handlebar bag might be an option. The Touratech one is most definitely NOT waterproof and was sent back. I now use a Wunderlich one from Nippy Norman which I've sprayed with tent proofer and stays fairly dry. It has slots for pens and an ID window plus the central compartment.

When touring on the 1200GSA I've used it for quick access to my camera, storage for fruit or a chocolate bar. You can also balance a can of coke upright if you're careful though I have a RAM-mount cupholder as well. ;)

It's not a perfect fit on the F650GS bars but once on nobody is any the wiser.

Tim

PS: can't wait to hear how the bike performs, Turkey is on my list :)

The tank cover, or should I say strip lol is £88, as for the bags depends which one. Will take some phots at the weekend when she picks it up and have all the bits fitted.

Which bag do you use Elvie?

Which bag do you use Elvie?

Mine was called the Baglux City. I bought it 3 years ago for the Blade. It cost £54 then. I've looked on the Baglux site and it looks very like the CityTrail which they're advertising for the same price now. I was told mine was designed for sports bikes but it fits the GS as well as the Blade so I can't see that there's a difference. It's not too deep which is ideal for women as we've shorter arms and backs than men and a tall bag just gets in the way of steering.

Karols new bike! Got it today after a 6 week wait. Still not sure about the Baglux cover though, have I put it on correctly or is it wrong? Hope to have some pickys of her on it tomorrow when we go for a ride :)

Kriega luggage

Does anyone have pictures of any of the Kriega kit fitted to the 800GS - perhaps used as a tailpack etc. - thanks.
