► Tank bags, tail packs and soft luggage

Hi

I'm looking to buy a tang bag for my 650 twin and was wondering if anyone has tried out the Give t483 tankbag?. I want a bag that has a base that is left on the bike and the actual bag can be quickly detached. I believe the wunderlich and famsa tankbags do this as does the Givi. I quite liked the wolfman bags but I believe these have to be strapped onto the bike, not easily detachable. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks
Peter

I've literally just this minute listed my Kappa bag on the for sale section mate, take a look at that!

:D

I got the Enduristan SANDSTORM 1, and discovered on saturday that it's not waterprof...

In heavy downpour water gets in when the zippers meet, I've notified Enduristan, and have been offered an upgrade to SANDSTORM 2, but I am not sure that the improvements will solve the issue.

Otherwise a very nice tankbag, does not leave much left on the bike when it's removed.

I bought the Bagster Cross´r now. In my opionion a very good solution with a lot of space and of a solid quality. And even no problem with the horn, because it is not to close to the handlebar.

Best regards from Düsseldorf

Tank bag with camera insert?

Has anyone fitted a tank bag to the F650GS (or the F800) with a camera insert.
I am looking for a tank bag that is not too tall, to carry my DSLR and keep it relatively safe and dry.

I've got the standard BMW tankbag, and just cut a piece of foam for inside the bottom of it to stop it rattling around inside. DSLR and lens sits in there, and spare lense in jiffy bag alongside it. Easy access and the bag is supposed to be waterproof.
I also cut a small piece of that wired rubber matting that supposed to be for coin trays and dashboards in cars to stop things sliding about. Got a roll from tesco and put it under the tankbag to save the paint. The BMW back is rubber-ish on the bottom, but they still mark the paint ifyou get grit etc under it.

erm..meant "weird" rubber matting. Not "wired".
Which is what I am after honey on walnut bread for supper.:toungincheek

yep..a "roll"...it's beginning to sound like a Viz Top Tip...:D

"To avoid unsightly scratches caused by tank bags on motorcycles, cut a small piece of bread and place under each corner. This will also be useful as a useful small and handily placed emergency food supply in the event of the satnav conking out and the rider getting irretreivably lost"
