Hi

What's the difference between 2001 and 2002 model 1150?
When were the black engine and those 'purple' forks introduced and were they an option.

If heated grips are fitted from new is a high output alternator installed?

If I retrofit hgrips is it adviseable to change the alternator? (Maybe there an issue with a higher capacity battery too?)

Thanks v much

David

My 1150 is a 2002. There are little differences like the tank decals (had mine changed for a 2001 decal which I prefer).

As far as I am aware, the biggest single difference is the use of EVO brakes with 'BMW' rather than 'Bembo' on the calipers. I think this was a half way step as the GS moved to EVO brakes with servo assist in 2003.

I am sure others will know of any other changes and correct me if they think I am wrong.

Mike's correct, only the colour change of the front fork legs and the evo brakes, the difference in the evo brakes was bigger disks and the ABS was much smoother, no grinding feeling when activated.

Mines a Sept 2002 1150 and has the blued forks and BMW on the brake calipers but no servo, my mates is a March 2003 and has the servo brakes so somewhere in between the servo was added.
