The front U joint on my drive shaft had a catastrophic failure and has to be replaced. Motoworks does have complete GS shafts but not the GSA. They said that the GS 'can be' retro-fitted to the GSA when using the complete shaft but my first preference is for the GSA shaft. They also have reconditioned GSA shafts however you have to exchange yours AND it has to be able to be reconditioned which mine clearly can't.

Plan B is to buy a new one and they're much cheaper in the UK even with shipping. That said, is there a dealer of choice that has good parts prices or are the prices pretty much fixed?

Thanks in advance......

Ron

James Sherlock sold the last one yesterday and it appears that BMW Motorrad policy of not shipping outside the country of sale extends to the UK....

I called Motorworks again and lo and behold I got one! They were excellent to deal with and got it shipped out today so it lands at my door on Monday....:clap

Now clean up and prep for re-install.

Good news

Yes, Plus One on the MW comment. They seem to have everything, so long as you don't arrive in their earpiece without having done your research on their excellent webpages. Your exact model, their part numbers, etc.

When I was after a rear hugger for my Rockster, the guy Nord actually wandered off on his radiomike in among the parts bins looking for a decent-condition used one for me. I was phoning from here in Andalucía so thank Goodness for Skype. I've dealt with MW for the past twenty years and never been disappointed.

Last Wednesday they even found me a single bar end weight, the special dished handguard washer and bolt for the bits that had dropped off my bike whilst I was chasing my pal on his 1200 GSA 'cos I hadn't put a dab of thread locker on the long M5 countersunk bolt. The bits are already at my place in Saddleworth awaiting my arrival at Christmas. Brill.
