So who's done it already and how was it?

Just got mine to 600mls today and booked it into it's first service on Monday.

I have to say I have loved every single minute of riding it this last week and am very very glad that I made the purchase.

Stoney - you're starting to scare me !!

Exact same spec & colour as my bike (except I can't afford panniers ! :( )

Collected on 1st March, just on 1000k (or 600mls in old money) & its booked for its first service on Monday !!

If you're an ugly bearded ba***rd too then I've been cloned.

Apart from that its been a great week&ahalf - roll on the good weather :D :D

Hope you're enjoying yours as much as I'm enjoying mine.

:beerjug:

How much oil has yours used during run in ? and did you run it in by the book or more briskly?
I have now done 300 miles & it has used not a drop of oil.
I have not thrashed mine, but I have ridden it how it feels happy i.e. regularly to 4250 - 4500 rpm (even after 50 miles) and up to 5000 sometimes. The engine has been very smooth from the begining.

Rod - hasn't used hardly any oil, which is a surprise considering some of the comments on various threads.

Havn't thrashed the bike but havn't wrapped it in cotton wool either - it's a machine, not a female, - isn't it ??

However I have kept the revs to between 3500 & 4000 ithrough the gears & the odd foray towards 5k (overtakes etc).

I wonder if I will ever actually use more than about 4000 on the road when first service completed - you take off from the lights & run to 4k in each gear & you arein the next county before the first cars have crossed the white line !!

Also 4k in 6th brings me to 125kph (or 75mph) which is our limit on motorways.

With 4 points (2 for speeding & 2 for contesting it in court) already on my licence I don't see myself travelling @ 6 or 7k in top for any great distance ! ;) ;)

Anyway, Rod (enough rambling - work to do) continue to enjoy the bike & happy riding

:D :D

No comments re; ugly but I don't have a beard!!

To be honest I find it really hard sticking to sub5k revs. I kept it below 5k for 500 miles with the odd blip, but have increased it steadily since and have to tell you that after 5k it absolutely takes off - so prepare yourself because you haven't even tasted what it can do yet!!!

Had the first service and now just under 800 miles.

Didn't know about the surge at 5k so will try that out later!

Very impressed with mine too so far but do find the wind buffeting around my helmet a bit tiring at times.

Must adjust the screen!

I wouldn't exactly call it a surge BUT it does pick up considerably. I've ordered a taller and wider Sedcem screnn from NNs but actually find the standard screen quite bearable with earplugs in - which is always for me. It's certainly better that the standard 1150Gs one and as good as the ADV screen. I've got mine in it's most upright position and am 6ft tall.

Not far from 600 miles, brief periods up to 5,000revs, no oil used.
Am over 6ft tall and have found the buffeting much improved by having the screen on its lowest setting, guess the airflow is smoother (not hitting me helmet) but maybe just have'nt be able to go fast enough yet!!:D
