Bought this new in 2006. Done many trips and its used most days. Its done 253000 kilometres ( 157000 miles ) Other than final drives and just now the switch gear for the indicators its been good. I did think that the ABS modulator had gone but it was a broken wire.

Very impressive :beerjug: ...and reassuring for me who has a R12GS of about the same age but with only 40000 km.:D

For me it's only day trips or at max a long weekend when it fits in during the summer half of the year when there no snow, ice and other nasty stuff.

Would you mind posting a pic or two of your bike?

I'd like to see some pictures ! To see what effect this sort of mileage has on a gs .

Will get some pictures for you. The seat is the worst, the frame of the seat is shot and the outer cover is really tatty. Getting close for gaffer tape on the seat.

I see you mention final drive replacement.
Curious as to how many rebuilds/replacements?
Also how many drive shafts have you replaced?
And if you would care to finish off with how is engine oil usage with all the mileage on the motor?

Great stuff and I feel I've done nothing with mine at 112,000 miles. There are a few of us with over 100,000 and they all seem to be going well and don't suffer the issues of the barely used or lower mileage bikes.

I don't suppose the corrosion issues are a problem down under which does cause some issues in our part of the world.

tough as f**k

mines done 100k on the original engine, clutch, gearbox, final drive at 65 drive shaft at 80k, even then it didnt leave me stranded, set of front discs 2 rear, abs pump at around 75k, built a good one out of a 2nd hand one, original seat started hurting my arse at 95k,so replaced with another one.

I wheelie it all the time and love 100mph > 0 braking sessions,it never gets washed (unless its getting baptised):augie and its in pretty good nick I reckon.:thumby:

I managed to see some of them, just held my finger on it on my pad then clicked view image.
Same colour and year as mine, though I've done less than a third of that mileage.

Sorry about that..... If you right click, then view in new tab they open. If someone sends me an email I will send you some pics.

The bike doesnt use any oil, final drives ive gone through three. No drive shafts or anything else. Constant high speed fully loaded with the wife, tent, sleeping bags etc it would drink the fuel, caught me out once. Up in the Northern Territory overtaking road trains doing 200 kph. Love the bike.

Blowzorns 1200ADV had 160K+ miles on it last year november. He had it dynoed and posted the results HERE.

Knowing Paul i wouldn't be surprised if he's added another 10K miles in the meantime :D

Thanks good to know!
Mine, 07 GSAdventure
I'm at 75K miles all original 'cept wear n tear items ie: plugs, brakes, tires etc. and 1 FPC modual, warranty item.
Even still original battery, which I should replace this year.
Drive shaft still "gut n tight" at 69K miles when removed an checked last summer.
Final drive still tight, clean oil on changes at 10K intervals, same with trans.
Clutch still feels good,no slippage, slight rattle/chatter at idle when warm/summer time.
Engine oil about 1/8 of liter in 5000 miles, valves checked every 12K and still OK.
No ABS bulls#it to worry about, second set of factory shocks.
Heading to Alaska for the third time this summer. No Worries!
