06 MODEL, CHANGES & TOOLKIT - WHAT'S MISSING?

Well, just been and collected my lovely new bike today, 06 model with all the differences previously posted on this forum but one extra thing I've noticed . . . the tool kit is useless! Is this how BMW have cut the weight on the 1200GS then? All I have in it is:
1x Screwdriver
1x 17mm spanner
1x spring adjuster tool
1x flat ended bar tool (F knows what that's for!)
1x thinner flat ended bar tool

AND THAT'S ALL!!!!!

No Spark plug removal tool
No Spark plug cap removal tool
No puncture repair kit

Anyone any ideas what else is missing? Anyone got a list of what should be there? Or is this it? Am I complete?

Also noticed that the screen front fasteners are no-longer plastic but are now metal, so the Touratech replacement's I ordered are surplus!

Word of caution to anyone ordering the Touratech bash-plate that fastens to the centre stand . . . DON'T!! It won't fit on the 2006 model as the centre stand crossbar shape has been changed.
 
Tool kit is a sore point, stopped giving a full kit from 05 onwards - have a search on it :(

The plug cap removal tool *should* be hidden under the tool tray, not in the tool kit (sic)

I agree and have written to BMW Customer Service to complain about the lack of repair kit, and a tool kit more in keeping with a child's bicycle.
I was unfortunate to experience a rear wheel puncture on about my 2nd or 3rd day out on the new bike with about 500 miles on the clock.
There wasn't even a tool to remove the rear wheel, which would have allowed me to at least take it to a local tyre shop and have it repaired.
In the end as I was c30 miles from home BMW Service had to arrange a Rescue vehicle to come and pick me up.
A waste of their money and my time, all for the sake of a few pounds of kit!
 
Does the 06 model have the cutouts at the rear of the seat unit for the topbox plate bracket, or is it still a diy job?

re the toolkit - read this thread it'll tell you all you need to know

PS. they reduced the tool kit because 1200's don't need them :D

No cutouts; still DIY
 
Fanx for that. After reading the thread, seems like my toolkit is indeed "Complete". I'm not a happy bunny though so I think I'll try my dealer and possibly BMW Customer Services coz after all, for 9K, I'd have expected a toolkit just like the 1150 and earlier 1200's. Not the cost of buying the missing tools, more a principal thing.

How much will it cost BMW in call-outs if folks "Have to" request breakdown assistance (From their mate's house) everytime they need a wheel removed / handle bars moving?

I'm not going H&B so that's a mod I'll not need.

It's a mod you will need if your going BMW or a lot of the other carriers, they all use bracing to the rear chassis it seems :D

I've decided to go Givi and the Givi mounting bars have a clever little cut-out to avoid cutting the bike up, where it braces to the rear chassis.
