'07 R1200GS ADV: I need a small tail pack for chain

the Kriega http://www.kriega.com/ stuff is very good indeed. they do a 20 litre tailpack which fits onto the back of the 1200 very well. i use it most days now instead of the panniers.

Thanks guys

I have some Kriega stuff already (the R8 - brilliant!) ... I really hadn't considered them for the tailpack though! :blast

I too got a Krieger bag with my Almax chains, very well made indeed.
But seemed a shame to put put my often grimmy muddy chain in it..lol so I use an ortllieb PD350 (XS size) dry bag for carrying mine on my 1150.

Its a bit easier to wash out from time to time than the krieger one... but both would do the trick. I use a cargo nett to secure it. But best go with which ever suits you and your chain/mounts/rack etc the best. I have the ortliebs on my site, if your want to see possible alternatives.

I bought a simple pack from Hein Gericke for about £10 that straps around the pillion pad, though it will just as easily go in the Adv rack. Just right for lock and chain - and cheap enough, I wouldn't want to spend too much just to carry a chain about! They had piles of them and it was an impulse buy, but just the jobbie. :thumb2

Hi All

I'm looking for a small tail pack, just big enough to carry my Abus Granit chain.

The Touratech pack for the 1200GS doesn't look as if it will fit the ADV's rack:

Does anyone know if it will?

Any other suggestions?

V61, maybe the Krieger stuff will do the job, but I have the Touratech jobbie & it's a good bit of kit. Don't forget it expands upwards when you unzip so you get twice the height shown. If you really really really want to know the expanded size I'll wonder around the garage down the road and measure up.
