Looking for someone who knows....?

I think the more I look the more bent the subframe looks... The paniers don't look parallel to the ground and things don't bolt on as they should. I feel the best way forward is to invest in another subframe.

I have an 07 plate GSA

Can anyone tell me if the GS and the GSA rear subframe are the same? Is there something unique about GSA version....? :nenau Thanks for your help...

Regards

Has the bike been crashed?
If it has GSA case frames, have the alloy spacer blocks been fitted correctly? They are not all the same length.
Are all the bolts in place?
Fiddly parts = par for the course with Touratech stuff.

Ok Bendy toy,
Thanks for your reply...
Not sure is the honest answer. I have the original GSA side cases. I bought the bike secondhand... and there is some suspicion it's seen a hard life. The alloy spacer blocks? are they under the rear seat cowling? I'll have to take a closer look....

put bike on level ground & center stand use a tape measure check both sides with/without its not hard youll soon see if it is indeed bent

The frames are most obviously held by the pillion footrest hangers and alloy blocks on the subframe tubes. In a crash these can get bent.
There are also four M6 screws fastening under the seat through solid alloy spacers. These are not all the same length so it's possible to get one side on longer spacers than the other side.
To check the frame alignment take off the pillion seat plastic and stretch a string from steering head to a weight on the floor behind the bike.
Get it straight and central to the subframe then check the tyre is central to the string.
