R1150GS rear subframe repaint

As the title says I am repainting the rear subframe on my spare 2000 R1150GS.
I have taken the frame from the bike, removed all attachments, cleaned the rust and dodgy paint and peeled the frame protection stickers off.
When it is all painted and heading back into the bike I will need to replace the frame protecting stickers.
Is there a clear tape I can buy that I can make these out of?

I use 'helicopter tape' on my mountain bike which is what I think you're after. You can cut pieces to size.

There are several brands these days, but I think 3M developed the original product - 3M heli tape

Apparently developed to protect the edge of helicopter blades, hence the nickname.
