Im about to embark on the goodship clutch change on my 08 GSA and have been reading the various forum guides, as its my first time.
As I may have the bike in bits for some time I want to minimise fluid loss from the disconnected rear brakes lines.
The ADVRider guide uses some red thread caps to cap them off.

Anyone know what size these are and who sells a handfull of these caps? (Reprom talks about M10 and M12 but doesnt clarify)
Ive seen these on Ebay for a few quid and look like they would do the job.

Or are they not necessary and someone has another method for stopping fluid dripping out?

Plastic caps are never very good at sealing, I have a couple of sets of assorted snap-on rubber plugs and caps which are OK for short term use.
For longer sealing jobs I use a nut and bolt with copper washers on banjo`s and machine aluminium furrels to simulate the banjos.
I do not disconnect the brake pipes when doing a clutch as you can remove the, swing arm, rear sub frame, gearbox whilst threading the rear caliper and pipework through. ( then hang it up out of the way).
Just make a note of at which point to thread it through on re-assembly. ( photo`s help)
If first clutch job you should be able to complete it in a weekend. ( don`t forget the bottom gearbox bolt tucked up inside the R/H side of the frame) :thumby:.

Sounds like a good idea will give that a try, thanks. Will save some bleeding I imagine too.
Started the job on Friday and Im down to the 'remove air ducts from throttle body' stage. Will recommence on Monday.
