Hi all,
Yesterday whilst heading home from the usual commute, Central London then onto the A1 to Herts. First stretch of the A1 last night opened the bike up, 6th gear and after a mile or so 70+mph the bike died in the central lane. Engine stopped, clocks & display went blank. Tried the hazards, but nought. Luckily not much traffic around for a change, so was looking for a spot to roll off to. Turned ignition off whilst rolling along with the key and back on and the display kicked in again and she started no probs. off i went. Headed off home via the back roads and tried all sorts (slow speed gear changes, rolling off throttle quickly, hard accelerating) to replicate it, but nothing.
Never happened before, no stalls changing down from 3rd to 2nd that i have read about on hear. Just wondering if anyone has any initial thoughts on this?
Going to head off shortly for a decent ride to see if it occurs again.
I did wonder if the ring antennae would be the thing to shut the bike down if it was on it's way out?
Thanks very much
