Sorry to be a pain people , I have a slight rattling at tick over which has come on over the last 5k ,pull in the clutch and it disappears let clutch back out and starts again .
Bikes an 08 with 37k any ideas folks :thumb2

Anything to do with the clutch or gearbox, I think it's a split the bike in half kinda job.

Ride it until something goes maybe ? By the time I'm finished I would of nearly re built this bike from the ground up ,suspension ,fd rebuild now clutch pending soon .
I still love it and every mile I do on it :thumb2

Thrust bearing.
It's not the thrust bearing making the noise.
Unless you have the spannering skills, id leave it to a pro. You might as well replace the clutch and pressure plate while you are in there. Budget around £700 smackeroonies from a main stealer. Indy will be cheaper I think.
The thrust bearing is part of the clutch slave cylinder which is on the back of the gearbox and held in place with two bolts and is a very simple job to replace .

Get it over to Mikeyboy.
Just replaced the clutch on mine at pretty well exactly the same mileage.

If it is my clutch Jesus :blast I was hoping to get a few more miles out of it before having to replace , I've read about guys getting upto 70 or 80k .
It must be all the two up riding that's giving the bike a harder life than normal maybe :nenau

I have the same but further developed.
It's not the clutch
It's not the push rod
It's not the pushrod felt pad
It's not the slave cylinder or the thrust bearing.
It does not clatter when clutch is open so it's not the clutch.

It's the gearbox input shaft. Which runs free in neutral but gets damped when clutch lever is pulled.
Mine will rattle if I click the bike into neutral while rolling along slowly. A bit annoying but no big deal.

Sent via iPhone so expect strange words

Same here, '08 GSA 39K miles. It's been doing this the last 25K miles or so. Just ride it.

Mine was slipping slightly due, Mike said, to misting through one of the seals which had contaminated the clutch plate.

Replace crank seal and get the gearbox end float sorted when you have the clutch done. Otherwise the new clutch will go the same way. Mike will sort it.

At tick over it is still audible even with plugs in , no matter though I'm just going to keep banging the miles in :D

Mine as well, but it will carry on until I can either rebuild the gearbox or get a used replacement. I would like one with the lower first gear as used on some GSAs.
