Hi

Any recommendations for a '09 GSA Yoke protector ? Had a look at Nippy Normans and they look like they might 'lift' easily with jetwashing, use etc ?

What do people use to protect yoke from key(s) (Touratech key for locking TomTom cradle and chain key). I've seen the neoprene covers but they look a little fussy to be pulling out each time I get on the bike. Looking for something I can fit and forget.

Suggestions welcomed.

I have never put a key ring on my bike key, I use my lucky leather bracelet that gets transferred from one to the next.

It's just a cheap leather bracelet that you would buy from the lloky looky man on holiday, makes a loop to hold onto.

never had a problem with marking the yoke or bars, all other keys go in my pocket.

Or spend a couple o quid on one of the softy bmw "coffin" stylee key cases. Very Goth. Keeps the remote dry too! :thumb

I use a single key now. I used to put a nut & bolt through the alarm fob and key. Kept it off the yokes. Unsightly but worked.:pullface just wanted to pull a face cos I havent used that one yet :pullface

Just 1 key on my bike key secured with a cable tie to stop it flapping about and marking stuff :thumb2

Any pics/links as to what one of these looks like and where to get one from?

Sadly this very useful BMUU accessory is no longer available, it was dropped about 2 years ago in favour of the more solid ( much larger and less useful) coffin shaped one. My local dealer has been keeping a wary eye open for me, in case any used stock comes in with one of these on the keys.

If anyone knows of a dealer with these still in stock, post their name up here for all to see; if I'm lucky I will be in the stampede to get one...

Motorrad Central East in Dalkeith just outside Edinburgh (0131 654 2777). I was looking at them just last week :thumb2

Didn't check the price though.....:)

PVC flex insulation

Ive put a piece of two core PVC flex "outer" on my disk lock key. Primary reason: I transfer the PVC from the disc lock key to the ign key when I attach the disc lock to the wheel. This then stops me putting the ign key into the ign switch and driving off with the disc lock attached to the wheel! Ive learn the hard way - twice! I found this mod stops the keys marking the headstock.

Alternative Option

To stop the alarm fob chaffin the yoke as it flaps around in the breeze, I use a bit of self adhesive Velcro between it and a suitable location on or around the ignition barrel - works a treat :JB
