09GSA - Start from cold, first use of throttle, engine stalls

Hi All,

I read the threads following a search with the relevant keywords on a problem that has just surfaced this week.

Here goes...

- Bike is an 09GSA (purchased last Sept.) from new
- 7,400 miles on the clock
- Bike serviced last Saturday
- Plenty of fuel in

Just this week, (this seems to occur whether the bike has been left overnight on the side or main stand), I start the bike then the moment I use the throttle for the first time, the bike stalls.

I then restart it, and although it struggles a little (sounds like it may stall again), it will be fine and off I go. This has happened for the last three days in succession.

I initially wondered if it was the FPC - but surely my 09' has had the latest "version" put on it?

Has anyone any ideas please?

So, you're bike has stalling issues that surfaced immediately after it was serviced...?

The bike was spot on for several days AFTER the service, and I use this bike a heck of a lot.

Serviced Saturday, all fine and dandy for 4 days.

Or what it would be like without the constant stream of idiotic posts! asking idiotic questions
 
Hold on a minate lads , dakar dude , has asked a sensible question. He has tried to do the the leg work to get the answer he needs, but hasnt been able to find it.The whole idea of the forum is to help each other out who ask sesible questions, not stupid ones on oil etc. If i knew the answer i would i would try to help out

Anyone else got to the stage where they are about to click submit on adding a new post to this forum and think "right, let's keep a tally of how many know-all's respond and are gonna treat my post like it doesn't count"?

If you've got something constructive to add to the thread Bruce Almighty, please add it, otherwise, click elsewhere. Pathetic.

(At this point I could post something REALLY insulting, bit I won't).


What I will add is this: After coming to work on the bike after the issues first thing, I leave the bike at work during the day then find it starts spot on when I'm leaving to head home. (This can be after 10 hours of it being left).

Constructive responses please. Thanks. :)

Damn right. The guy asked a serious question to which he does not know the answer. All matters are not simple to all people which is surely the point of the forum, a source of advice and guidance from people supposedly in the know.
The sarcastic responses do nothing other than make the sarcastic responder look an absolute twat.

Dakardude,mate thats a fair question,thats what a motorcycle forums for,i cant answer your question but there will be someone along soon who will,wankers who post bollox smartarse replies should keep their fingers off the keys if they have'nt got anything constructive to type,seems a bit par for the course on here lately though.Hope you sus the fault fella......:thumb

It seems if you;ve got over 1000 posts you get the right to be sarcastic fecker, and I bet half of them haven't got a clue as to the answer to your problem...

And then if you get half a sensible question you get another tosser coming along and telling you that you should have bought an 1150..:blast:blast:blast

Mine hesitates slightly when its got a sweat on, but not when its cold....

I would take it back to where you got it serviced, and demonstrate the fault to them...:thumb:thumb

Just giving some balance you were quick to criticise the other guy for pointing out the obvious, a constructive response is take it back to the dealer that JUST serviced and get him to sort it out

Hope you are not directing that a me, I was just pointing out the obvious, clearly if a dealer has just been fiddling take it back to where they removed your money from you and get them to sort it, and worse for you I to live in Leigh on Sea and Know who you are! and I dont take kindly to being insulted

This thread has all of the action of a ministerial debate, a broken item that tossers are arguing about the best way of fixing and the token nerd with hyperbole !

It sounds all the world like an fpc , but dealer diagnostics and your warranty should put the problem to bed. Good luck:thumb2
 
First off I'd try a TPS reset as I've had stalling issues on cold days when the bike is just warming up, though never from just starting. Resetting always cured this. If nothing else it's a quick and easy job.

I'd be surprised if it was the FPC as failures seem to be getting less common, but stranger things have happened.

Contacting the dealer is actually a good idea given the bike is new and has just been 'serviced'.
