Only being 5' 9" tall I have had the seat of my 1150GS on the lower setting, thinking that this has got to be the best setting relevant to my height.

Changed it to the higher setting yesterday, much more natural feel to the riding position and my feet still touch the ground, which is nice.

So if you're not particularly tall give it a try.

It's amazing what an inch can do !!! :nod

5' 9" , that`s positively lanky! :P
I second your point re seat setting Steve, if anyone is interested ;) . My observation is that the ergonomics of the bike are designed around the higher more forward setting. I find the bike seems to be quicker to drop into corners when set low reacting faster to bar inputs and is more stable when set high(As well as more comfortable).
If I`m out for a twisty road blast I drop the seat to get max corner slaying poise but when loaded with her outdoors on the back I switch to the high setting for comfort and stability.

Thanks for that Lukate, I'll maybe give it a go...............You mean you're shorter than 5' 9" ????:dance I feel soooooooooooo tall !!!!

Cheers

Went to the higher setting on my 1100 and have found the ergonomics improve and I'm not tall, but an exta inch seat to pegs feels nicer on the knees.

But you don't want to get me started on me poor old knees!

Thanks Beemer.

I think we got our 1150's about the same time, so are both still experimenting.

Saying that, I don't think I would ever have considered trying the higher seat, as I'm under 6 foot so just thought it would be no good.

But what a difference! As you said, it all just seems to click into place. Ta very much.

Pleased to hear it's improved things for you too!!

More of an inside leg measurement than height thing, I am 5'10", but only have a 29" inside leg, after dropping the bike at Lyme Regis when the ground went AWOL on the car park/road junction.I think I will stick to the previously untried lower option.

Ah, the joys of imperial measurements, I bet our foreign Tossers don't know what we're talking about. Probably goes the same for "Tossers"
