Up a hill in Somerset!
10 months later and over 10K miles covered any I haven't had any problems. Its never failed to start, the brakes have always worked, it's been ridden regularly throughout winter and has no issues with corrosion and nothing's come loose or fallen off.

Two European trips, two up with luggage have covered over 6000 miles at an average fuel consumption of 53 mpg and very little oil has been used.

I feel left out compared to the (supposedly) many others who have had 'incidents' with their 1200's. ;)

Have I got a rogue one or is it only the unhappy ones who tell us their woes. :nenau

So, come on, let's redress the balance and let the world know that they really aren't that bad at all! :thumb :thumb

you've bought a duff one, quick send it back to have those defects corrected, they are supposed to break every 25 miles :D

6k and happy

Done 6k on mine in a year (3.5k in spain last year Sept) I'm still very impressed with mine, and no problems (except a bit of rust on the front axle, replaced under warranty without quibble)....

Hang on a minute! Weren't you the guy just talking about only wanting to see technical articles in this section? Your two posts in this thread, don't offer any technical advice.

Dahoum - I think that 'Moan and Groan' forum you created should be called "Positive Strokes and Negative Jibes" on the 1200GS - that would then really clean this section up for useful techy posts. You can be biased in the content. If it's not technical - shift it.

didn't create anything  just moved a rant to the Forum Rant section :D

If i could have a "big up the 1200" section I would. In the meantime a rant's a rant unless it has a degree of technical info :thumb

Thats just as simplistic as the posts expecting every bike to be faulty. The difference between a good producer is the difference between 1 faulty in 200 and 1 faulty in 2000 say. My bike like yours has been fault free, but there have still been enough reports of problems to say to me that BMW quality isnt what it should be.

Even Rover never succeeded in making every car crap.
