We have just had a new fuel introduced here with 10% ethanol, it is 95 din (whatever that means). Will A 1200 GSA run "allright" on it and are there any long term benefits or side effects?....Sorry its late here, my syntax is not the best!:beerjug:

Bike magazine have been setting up a triumph 675 to run on 85% ethanol produced from apple juice.
It was more powerful and showed better economy in mid range.

I believe that many countries now use a 10% mix with no problem

You're better off with the older 1200 GSA than the 08 onwards models. Lower compression ratio.

A while back I was looking at the fuel and ignition maps for the Triumph Tiger 955 comparing the official maps for the Brazilian market (they have a lot of ethanol in their petrol) with the standard one. Only difference seemed to be that maximum ignition advance was lower on the Brazilian version.

Ethanol !!!

That takes me back to the 1948 fuel crisis - when the petrol ration for pleasure was ZERO! I ran my BSA A7 twin on straight methanol, having bored out the main jet. It ran Ok, used twice as much fuel as before and I learnt how to do my first respray as all he paint was washed off the tank!

We store 40,000 litres of 96% ethanol at work.

Have to toss up and decide wether to drink it or put it in R100 tank:blast
