100/85 headlamp bulbs

Is it possible to run 100w headlamp bulbs on a 1100gs, I know its illegal, but I ran them on my K100rs for years with no probs and no relay, will the 1100s wiring stand up to it or is it add a relay.

Mine's had 100/80 (is that what you mean) in it for well over five years now. Should I start to worry

changed to 100/80 within a few days of gettin mine - absolutely no problems.

I have experimented with several 100w bulbs but they all seem to blow after about two to three weeks(lights continously on)

Bulbs blowing?

My first one lasted about three years, and in the last two years, I've had about three go! No ryme nor reason I could find, so I just don't worry about it. Halfords own make seem to last longest, and they're cheaper if thats any help

The 100 watt bulbs are not visibly ant better than Philips 55wat 50% brighter ones, I tried a 100 and went back to the Philips 50 & plus, I think its whiter and gives a better light.
