100'000 reasons to keep going

Never had a replacement final drive in the GS. The shaft has been dropped and lubricated at some point in at least one of the services.

My R1100S though has 110k and that had a new drive shaft at 19k, and three sets of paralever bearings. Discs all round, front wheel bearings (twice), 3 x batteries, 3 x rear shock absorbers, gearbox selector shaft seal, replacement rear brake master cylinder, and regular servicing every 6k. It's cost a lot more in parts than the GS
