1000cc heads

Richie Moore has suggested I try and find some 1000cc heads as part of a plan to release some extra power.

Anybody have some, know where I could get some cheapo?

If the engine is 800cc now, then it is bigger barrels/pistons you need..and keep the 800 heads otherwisse you'll have to replace the 800cc downpipes with 1000cc type etc
If you want an honest and expensive answer..fit the larger Sienbenrock mod kit:)
 
I have the Siebenrock 1000cc mod which I'm told has doggy pistons to work with the 800cc heads I have.

I'm told by using the 1000cc heads you can use diffrent pistons and it all gets a lot better ;-)
 
The Siebenrock kit (work of art and nothing dodgy about it ) is designed to work with the 800 heads/carbs/exhausts etc...to put the 1000 heads on then you may have (just guessing ) more of a squish band and probably less power. Plus you'd need the carbs re-jetting and the 1000cc ( it is 2mm wider ) exhaust downpipes etc.
I'd ( just my humble 2d worth ) leave it well alone as it is :) or contact a proper tuning firm ( Jim Cray etc ) for their opinions...more power...lots more money
 
The 81 on bikes all use 38mm exhaust pipes, you can chop and change with any problem.

You need heads from a 81 -84 RT,RS or CS if you want to gain more power. The bikes from these years had 70 BHP engines. You will need a pair of 40mm Carbs though. I've got a pair you can have for £20 but they do need a pair of float bowls that will set you back another £40 for the pair.

Did you just use 1000cc airhead parts and cheapo in the same thread...tsk tsk tsk should know better than that Wreford :augie :augie :D
