I'm always positive about the 1200 because despite some of the negative stuff posted, I really believe it's the best all round and multi purpose motorbike available. Like everything else, they have their own problems but if you know about them you can work around them and enjoy the ride.

When I had my C600 Scoot serviced in May I had a loan bike a 2005 R1200GS with about 60000 miles on it .It was a bit tatty but rode as good as new . Smooth and nicely broken in . I'd not been impressed with the Scoot ( It was OK but not as your only bike ) so chopped it in for a basic Adventure , no ESA no heated grips no chrome exhaust no fog light no computer no LED indicators just ABS . Its the best bike I've had , and the best of all the Adventures I have owned .I'll be keeping it for a long time , it's my only Road bike now and does all I want from a bike . It's great to see yours with all those miles on it .you know every nook and cranny of the bike , something you don't get if you chop and change .Good on you

Unfortunately chad does not have the gadget to reset it but it goes nice with my fuel light which is on permanently cause my fuel strip packed up
