10300 mile Service ??

Only had my 1200GS LC for about 5 months now and riding it yesterday I've noticed the service indicator has come on at 10300 miles is this an annual service requirement as I was expecting to do 12000 miles before it needs a service also it feels a little lumpy for the first 4/5 miles are all these bikes the same

What mileage was its last service? Presumably near to 6k ago if the service light is on.

Just looked in my manual and officially by BMW it was serviced at 9540 miles on the 9/10/15 but had a mini service by CMC motorcycles who i bought it off

9/10/15 is the clue. Servicing runs on mileage and time. If the bike's memory was set at that date that's why the reminder.

so due a annual service now and in 1700 miles its due it's 12k big service. Might be worth having a chat to see if you can just have the 12k big service done now, so only spending once.

if you're doing your 12k, shop around and get quotes as the cost seems to differ dealer to dealer

I got two prices for the annual service, fluids filter etc, from my two dealers, the difference between the two is £90! Bahnstormer wanted in the region of £215 and CW of Dorchester want £125.

funnily enough it was Bahnstormer that were cheaper for me. Vines wanted £450!! and Bahnstormer £295 for a 12k.
